What you need to know for you visit in Steinhaus
Reservation for guided tours obligatory! You can visit the permanent exhibition without reservation.
Follow the staff's instructions and look out for signs and markings on the floor.
Accessibility: The permanent exhibition is barrier-free.
Dogs in the Museum: Dogs are permitted only as far as the entrance area.
Museum shop: Our shop sells a wide range of minerals, jewellery made from minerals and mining souvenirs. As part of our sustainability project "One.Four.Seventeen.", many of the products are made of sustainable material. Our expert sales staff will be pleased to help you.
Eating & drinking: There are several bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the Museum.
Getting here
Rail/bus: Take the train to Bruneck/Brunico then, from Bruneck/Brunico railway or bus station take bus no. 450 for the Ahrntal Valley to Steinhaus. Get off infront of the museum. Connections every 30 minutes.
Bike: From Bruneck take the cycle way to Steinhaus, Klausbergstraße 103.
By car: From the A22 autobahn take the Brixen/Bressanone exit, then follow the E66 towards Bruneck/Brunico, exit at Bruneck/Brunico North and from there take the SS621 towards Ahrntal/Valle Aurina to Steinhaus, Klausbergstraße 103. Free car parking across the road from the Museum.
Plane: The nearest airports are Innsbruck (125 km) and Verona ( 245 km).
